Privacy Policy
Short version: this site doesn't track you.
What we collect
Analytics: we use Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, which guides people read. GA4 sets its cookies (e.g. _ga) and processes data under Google's privacy policy; in GA4, IP addresses are not logged or stored. We see counts and trends — never your name or identity. You can block it with any content blocker or Google's own opt-out add-on, and every page keeps working.
Our own scripts collect nothing: the budget/CFE calculators and the save-for-later reading list run entirely in your browser; preferences live in local storage on your device and are never transmitted. Some guides embed YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie) — loads only if you interact. The neighborhoods map fetches OpenStreetMap tiles only when you activate it. The live weather chip in the header asks Open-Meteo (a keyless, cookie-free weather API) for Mérida's current temperature — a single anonymous request, cached in your browser for 30 minutes.
Server logs: standard hosting access logs (IP, page, time) exist for security and capacity, as on virtually every website.
Email & WhatsApp: if you write, we receive what you send and use it only to reply.
If this ever changes
If we add privacy-relevant features in the future — analytics, a newsletter, comments — this page will describe exactly what is collected and why before those features go live, and the update date below will change. Privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics would be our first choice.
